Lori Williams has been promoted to the director level in the national office governance and membership services staff.

Williams will oversee key initial-eligibility processes, including all areas associated with an individual student-athlete’s initial-eligibility. She also will serve as one of a team of directors overseeing administration of the NCAA Divisions I and II initial-eligibility process.

In addition, Williams will oversee policy matters involving the Divisions I and II Student Records Review group, the appellate body for prospective student-athlete academic record review.

Williams earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in June 1995 in management information systems. She completed her juris doctorate at Texas Tech University School of Law in May 1998 and is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Williams came to the NCAA after spending two years at the Big 12 Conference, where she was the assistant director of compliance. Before her assignment with the Big 12, Williams worked in the compliance department at Texas Tech.
