DECEMBER

Division I Baseball

November 11, 2005-January 5, 2006 (12:01 a.m.): Quiet period.

January 5, 2006 (12:01 a.m.)-9 (12:01 a.m.): Dead period.

January 9, 2006 (12:01 a.m.)-February 28: Quiet period.

Division I Men's Basketball

October 6, 2005-March 29, 2006 (note exceptions below): Evaluation period. All live evaluations during the academic year (except during the April contact period) shall be limited to regularly scheduled high-school, preparatory school and two-year college contests/tournaments, practices and regular scholastic activities involving student-athletes enrolled only at that institution.

Note the following exceptions to this evaluation period.

November 7-10: Dead period.

December 24-26: Dead period.

Division I Women's Basketball

September 16, 2005-April 18, 2006: Evaluation period. Women's basketball staff members shall not exceed 85 recruiting-person days. A recruiting person day is defined as one coach engaged in a off-campus recruiting activity of a women's basketball prospect on one day; two coaches engaged in recruiting activities on the same day shall use two recruiting days. Academic-year evaluations are limited to scholastic events. Those days not designated for evaluation purposes: Quiet period.

Note the following exceptions to this evaluation period:

November 7-10: Dead period.

December 24-26: Dead period.

March 1-30, 2006: Contact period.

March 31-April 13, 2006: Dead period except for one women's basketball event certified by the NCAA (Bylaw 30.19) held in conjunction with, and conducted in, the host city of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship (evaluation period) and April 7-9, 2006 (quiet period).

April 15-16, 2006: Evaluations permitted at nonscholastic women's basketball events.

Division II Men's Basketball

The period between the prospect's initial and final high-school or two-year college contests: Evaluation period.

Division II Women's Basketball

The period between the prospect's initial and final high-school or two-year college contests: Evaluation period.

Division I Football

November 27, 2005-January 28, 2006: Contact period (note exceptions below). Six in-person off-campus contacts per prospective student-athlete are permitted during this period with not more than one permitted in any one calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) or partial calendar week.

Note the following exceptions to this contact period:

December 18: Quiet period.

December 19, 2005-January 1, 2006: Dead period.

January 8, 2006: Quiet period.

January 9-12, 2006: Dead period, except that institutional staff members may have contact with a prospect who has been admitted for midyear enrollment, provided the prospect has signed a National Letter of Intent or other offer of admission and/or financial aid to attend the institution and is required to be on campus to attend institutional orientation sessions for all students.

January 13-14, 2006: Quiet period.

Division II Football

December 1, 2005-March 6, 2006: Contact period, except December 19 (7 a.m.)-December 21 (7 a.m.) for two-year college prospects and their educational institutions and January 30 (7 a.m.)-February 1, 2006 (7 a.m.): Dead periods.

Division I Men's Lacrosse

November 28-December 23: Quiet period.

December 24, 2005-January 3, 2006: Dead period.

Division I Women's Lacrosse

November 23, 2005-January 1, 2006: Quiet period

Division I Softball

November 30 (12:01 a.m.)- December 4 (12:01 a.m.): Dead period.

December 4 (12:01 a.m.)-January 1, 2006: Quiet period.

Division I Women's Volleyball

November 11-December 4: Contact/evaluation period.

December 5-13: Quiet period.

December 14-31: Dead period, except that coaches attending the American Volleyball Coaches Association annual awards banquet may have incidental contact with two-year college prospects being honored at the banquet.
