Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Division I Legislative Review and Interpretations Committee issued the following interpretations.

Recruiting/Summer Housing

Arrangement of Summer Housing for a Prospective Student-Athlete who is Receiving Summer Financial Aid. The committee confirmed that it is permissible for an institution to arrange off-campus summer housing for a prospective student-athlete who is receiving athletically related financial aid to attend the institution's summer term prior to his or her initial full-time enrollment. Eligibility/Use of a Season

Use of Seasons of Eligibility Pursuant to the Tennis and Swimming and Diving Rule and the Participation After 21st Birthday Rule. If an individual is subject to the tennis and swimming and diving rule or the participation rule after the 21st birthday rule, it is possible for this individual to use two seasons of competition within a 12-month period. If an individual's participation in organized competition results in the application of one of these rules and he or she represents a collegiate institution in competition during the same 12-month period, the individual is charged two seasons of competition.
