Dates and site: The championships will be March 11-12 at Sapp Fieldhouse in Omaha, Nebraska.
Field: There will be 160 competitors determined through four regional qualifying tournaments.
Qualifying dates: February 25-27.
2004 team champion: Nebraska-Omaha.
Top team contenders: Nebraska-Omaha, Augustana (South Dakota), Nebraska-Kearney, Central Oklahoma, Minnesota State Mankato.
Championship notes: Nebraska-Omaha won the National Dual Championships in Cleveland January 22. The Mavericks are led by heavyweight Les Sigman, who is a two-time national champion. Sigman, a junior, won 42 of his first 45 matches this season ... Ryan King (149) and Tom Meester (184) are ranked No. 1 in their respective weight classes by the Amateur Wrestling News ... Jeff Sylvester, the 2004 national champion at 197 pounds, leads Nebraska-Kearney ... Central Oklahoma has had to shuffle its lineup recently because of injuries to Kevin Lochner (197) and Shea Timothy (149) ... Jason Rhoten (149) is 9-3 for Minnesota State Mankato.
