Jul 4, 2005 5:47:45 PM

Bill Regan has been promoted to the director level within the national office's membership services staff. He fills the position recently vacated by Delise O'Meally, who became a director in governance and membership in March.

Regan, a liaison to the Division I Committee on Academic Performance, began his tenure with the NCAA in August 2002. In his new role, Regan will oversee CAP appeals/waivers related to data collection and contemporaneous penalties. He also will oversee Division I progress-toward-degree waivers.

Additionally, Regan will continue as a liaison to the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet, staffing the cabinet's subcommittee on continuing eligibility.

Before coming to the NCAA, Regan was the associate athletics director for compliance and student services at Stony Brook University. He also completed stints as the assistant athletics director for compliance at the University of Houston; Northern Arizona University; and University at Buffalo, the State University of New York.

Regan previously was a partner in the law firm of Leblanc, Herrmann and Regan, and he coached men's soccer at Canisius College and State University College at Buffalo. He received his law degree from the University of Akron.
