Kenyon swimmers won five individual events and all five relays on their way to a 20th Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships team title.

Principia hosted the NCAA meet March 11-13 at the St. Peter's Rec-Plex in St. Louis.

The title was the third straight for the Ladies since Denison ended their 17-year run in 2001. The Ladies also avenged rival Denison's win last month at the North Coast Athletic Conference championships, the first time in the 20-year history of the league that the Ladies did not wear the crown.

Beth Galloway and Agnese Ozolina each won two events for Kenyon and participated on four winning relays. The duo helped Kenyon's 800-yard freestyle team break an NCAA record Denison set in 2001.

Galloway, a sprint and backstroke specialist, won six of the seven events she entered, set one record, and was selected by coaches as the NCAA Division III Swimmer of the Year. Her record swim occurred in the 100-yard backstroke as she turned in a time of 55.57, better than her 55.70 set in 2003. She also notched a win in the 100-yard freestyle and swam legs on four winning relay teams.

Ozolina also won six of seven events, being beaten only by Galloway in the 100-yard freestyle. Ozolina went on to win the 200-yard individual medley (1:44.41) for the third consecutive season and claimed the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.05) title after being runner-up the past two.

Usually fielding the maximum 18 competitors, Kenyon won this year's meet with only 14. The Ladies' total of 507 points was 145 head of second-place Emory, which posted its best NCAA finish behind Holly Hinz's win in the 500-yard freestyle. Hinz also finished second in the 400-yard individual medley and swam a leg on Emory's 800-yard freestyle relay team that finished fifth.

Denison placed third in the team standings behind Jill Boo's win in the 100-yard butterfly. The Big Red also finished second in four of the five relays to pile up points.

The only other multiple event winner besides Galloway and Ozolina was Rachel Heitkamp of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, who swept both diving events. Franklin & Marshall's Krystle Satrum set the only other meet record, besting her 2002 mark in the 200-yard backstroke.

Kenyon's 20 team titles are the most by any one women's program in any division of the NCAA. North Carolina's women's soccer program ranks second behind Kenyon with 17 team titles.
