Executive Committee acts to bolster racial, gender inclusion

- Appointed a subcommittee to work with NCAA enforcement staff and legal counsel to study whether the Association should amend the infractions process and authority related to violations of NCAA Constitution, Article 2 (principles for conduct of intercollegiate athletics). Phil Stone, president of Bridgewater College (Virginia) and chair of the Division III Presidents Council, will chair the subcommittee. Other members are Sidney McPhee, president of Middle Tennessee State University and a member of the Division I Board of Directors, and Kathryn Martin, chancellor at the University of Minnesota Duluth and newly elected chair of the Division II Presidents Council.
- Received an update on the NCAA Centennial celebration to be launched at the 2006 NCAA Convention in Indianapolis. Efforts under way include identifying former NCAA Honors Program recipients to participate in Convention activities, and identifying activation opportunities for NCAA television and broadcast partners.
