Truman outpaced its nearest opponent by more than 200 points at the Division II Women's Swimming and Diving Championships March 12-15 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Truman, which won its third straight title, scored 682 points to best Drury's total of 412. UC San Diego and West Chester tied for third with 392 1/2 points.

A dominant Truman squad claimed nine of 21 events. The tandem of Liz Hug and Kelli Dudley won the 1,000-yard freestyle, the 200-yard backstroke, and both individual medley swims. Diana Betsworth won her fourth career title with a win in the 500-yard freestyle.

Newcomer Loni Burton was a one-woman show with her wins in the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles and the 100-yard butterfly. Other top individual performances came from UC Davis' Yuka Kobayashi, who won the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard butterfly, and UC San Diego's Rosanna Delurgio, who swept the breaststroke events.

In diving, two different champions were crowned. Lauren Lafranchise of Cal St. Bakersfield won the one-meter event, while North Dakota's Erin Borgshatz claimed the three-meter.
