The Interpretations Subcommittee of the Division II Legislation Committee issued the following interpretations:

Discretionary Scrimmage -- Official Scoring

1. A scrimmage with outside competition conducted without official scoring may be exempted from an institution's maximum number of contests or dates of competition. Official scoring has been kept if any of the following occurs:

(a) The signing of a scorebook by an official;

(b) The score is released to the media or other appropriate entities; or

(c) The score is used for individual or seasonal statistics.

2-4 Transfer Requirements -- Part-Time Student Who Competes

2. A student who represents an institution in intercollegiate competition during a term while enrolled in less than a minimum full-time program of studies shall be held accountable for the term with respect to satisfactorily completing an average of 12 semester or 12 quarter hours of transferable degree credit acceptable toward any baccalaureate degree program at the certifying institution for each academic term of full-time attendance. Proposal No. 19 -- Fulfillment of Minimum Grade-Point Average Requirements

1. All credit hours, including but not limited to part-time hours, transfer hours, advanced placement credit, that are accepted and appear on the transcript of the certifying institution shall be used in determining the number of semester or quarter hours completed with respects to fulfillment of the minimum grade-point average requirements. Proposal No. 10 -- Definition of a Professional Team -- Effective Date

2. For a student-athlete who enrolled in a non-NCAA collegiate institution before August 1, 2003, an institution may evaluate his or her amateur status using either the definition of a professional athletics team in effect before August 1, 2003, or the definition in effect on or after August 1, 2003, whichever definition is most beneficial to the student-athlete.
