By grabbing three of four individual titles on the meet's last day, Drury unseated three-time defending champion Cal State Bakersfield at the Division II Men's Swimming and Diving Championships March 12-15 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Drury finished with 612 points, 77 more than the Roadrunners. Host North Dakota placed third with 392 1/2 points.

Drury's second title since 1999 was a team effort. Henrik Weible started the meet with a win in the 1,650-yard freestyle. He later won the 1,000-yard freestyle and took second in the 500-yard freestyle. Alex Perdomo and Ben Labowitch added more first-place points with wins in the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard breaststroke, respectively.

Some familiar names returned to the championship podium for the fourth straight year. Southern Connecticut State's Ben Michaelson dominated every event in which he competed. He won four titles -- the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, and the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events, setting meet records in all. Michaelson is the third swimmer in Division II history to win 10 career titles.

Other notable performances came from Orel Oral of Indianapolis, who won the 100-yard backstroke and both individual medley swims, and distance specialist Vlasta Burda of Cal State Bakersfield, who was dethroned in the 1,000- and 1,650-yard freestyles but reigned supreme in the 500. He finished his career with nine individual titles.

Clarion's Shawn Colten swept the diving events for the second straight year.
