Conferences: The Atlantic Sun Conference will add East Tennessee State University to the league beginning in 2005-06. East Tennessee State currently is a member of the Southern Conference. "It is exciting to add an institution that is committed to maintaining its already outstanding athletics program," said Atlantic Sun Commissioner Bill Bibb. "The leadership of President Paul Stanton and Athletics Director Dave Mullins is evident in the school's commitment to achieving the highest standards of both academic and athletics success. The facilities are very attractive and the Johnson City community support makes East Tennessee State an ideal fit in our league." East Tennessee State will begin competition in 2005-06 in the Atlantic Sun, which at that time will consist of 11 members, including Belmont University, Campbell University, University of Central Florida, East Tennessee State, Florida Atlantic University, Gardner-Webb University, Georgia State University, Jacksonville University, Lipscomb University, Mercer University and Stetson University.

Miscellaneous: College Sports Television (CSTV), the nation's first 24-hour college sports network, has agreed to air sports programming of the University of Texas at Austin. CSTV will telecast live up to 15 men's and women's sports via broadband, home video and video-on-demand throughout the 2003-04 academic year. In addition, CSTV will broadcast the weekly TV coaching shows of Longhorns football head coach Mack Brown and men's basketball head coach Rick Barnes. CSTV is available to more than 15 million households nationally on satellite and cable, including on Adelphia and Insight systems and on DirecTV.
