Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislative Review/Interpretations issued the following interpretations:
Amateurism/Financial Donation to Collegiate Event
Professional Team's Involvement with Collegiate Event. It is not permissible for a professional team's name to be used in the title of a collegiate event. [Reference: NCAA Bylaw 12.01.2 (clear line of demarcation).]

Personnel/Outside Consultants
1. Sports Psychologist Attending Practice Sessions. It is permissible for a sports psychologist to attend practice sessions without including such an individual in the institution's coaching limitations, provided the individual does not participate in any coaching activities. The sports psychologist may evaluate a student-athlete during a practice session only for the purposes of assisting the student-athlete in off-court or off-field noncoaching activities (for example, mental imagery) directly related to the sport. Eligibility/Full-Time Enrollment
2. Waiver of Full-Time Enrollment. It is permissible to use the waiver of full-time enrollment pursuant to Bylaw 14.1.6.2.2.1.2 during an academic year in which a student-athlete in men's soccer is not enrolled full time due to participation in the FIFA World Youth Championships. Eligibility/Satisfactory Progress
3. Definition of an Academic Year. For purposes of applying NCAA Proposal No. 2002-23, the regular academic year shall be defined as the time beginning with the opening of the institution's fall term and ending with the institution's spring commencement exercises.
