Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislative Review/Interpretations issued the following interpretations:
Eligibility/Transfers
1. Institution that Offers Two-Year and Four-Year Degree Programs. The transfer eligibility of an individual enrolled in an institution that offers two-year and four-year degree programs and conducts its athletics program as a member of a junior college athletic association (for example, the National Junior College Athletic Association) shall be evaluated using the two-year college transfer requirements, provided the admissions standards are the same for those students entering a two-year degree program and those entering a four-year degree program. Eligibility/Core-Curriculum Time Limitation
2. Completion of Core Courses After High-School Graduation. A prospective student-athlete who repeats a term of attendance at the same high school from which he or she graduated for the purpose of completing initial-eligibility core-curriculum requirements shall not begin initial full-time enrollment at an institution until the following academic year, regardless of the length of time that has elapsed since high-school graduation.
