Division I
Dates and sites: Regionals will be conducted at campus sites May 10-11. Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be May 17-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia. Georgia will host.
Field: The team championships shall include 64 teams. Individual championships shall consist of 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams.
2002 team champion: Southern California.
2002 individual champions: Singles -- Matias Boeker, Georgia; Doubles -- Andrew Colombo and Mark Kovacs, Auburn.
Top team contenders: Illinois, Florida, California, UCLA, Mississippi.
Top individual contenders: Amer Delic, Illinois; Janne Holmia, Florida; Conor Niland, California; Tobias Clemens, UCLA; Alex Hartman, Mississippi.
Division II
Dates and sites: Regionals will be conducted at campus sites May 2-4. Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be May 8-11 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The Central Florida Sports Commission and the Sunshine State Conference will host.
Field: The team championship includes 64 teams. Single-elimination tournaments will be played at 16 regional sites (three or four teams at each site) and the finals site (16-team bracket) to determine the national champion.
2002 champion: Brigham Young-Hawaii.
Top team contenders: Brigham Young-Hawaii, Barry, North Florida, Drury, West Florida.
Players to watch: Jan Krejci, Brigham Young-Hawaii; Samir M'Bioka, Barry; David Olave, North Florida; Jeremy Blandin, Drury; Radovan Chrz, West Florida.
Division III
Dates and sites: Rounds of 32 and 16 will be conducted at campus sites May 2-3. Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be May 14-19 at Gustavus Adolphus.
Field: The team championship will consist of 27 teams. Individual championships will consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Teams will play a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion.
2002 team champion: Williams.
2002 individual champions: Singles -- Josh Lefkowitz, Williams; Doubles -- John Cham A-Koon and Ivan Yeh, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Top team contenders: Williams, Gustavus Adolphus, UC Santa Cruz, Redlands, Emory.
Top individual contenders: Daniel Murray, Williams; Kevin Whipple, Gustavus Adolphus; Brian Casey, UC Santa Cruz; Rob Candiotty, Redlands; Mark Odgers, Emory.
Gustavus Adolphus is the Division III champion that has gone the longest without a second title. The Gusties last won in 1980.
