The College Gymnastics Association has announced its 2003 National Academic Team Champions and All-America Scholar-Athletes for men's gymnastics.
After finishing second last season, Stanford University vaulted over 2002 title holder College of William and Mary to become the 2003 national academic team champions in men's gymnastics with a combined team grade-point average of 3.472. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Iowa and 2003 National Collegiate team champion University of Oklahoma round out the top five.
The College Gymnastics Association also honored 48 individual gymnasts as 2003 All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining at least a 3.500 grade-point average in addition to earning a minimum NCAA gymnastics score of 8.0 during the 2002-03 academic year. Among the honorees were Ryan Sneed from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and William and Mary's Mike Spies, who have earned four straight CGA Academic All-America designations.
