Sandra L. Slabik, faculty athletics representative at Neumann College, recently was appointed to the Division III Management to complete an unfilled term.
Slabik is an associate professor and coordinator of sports management in Neumann College's Division of Business and Information Management. Before that, she was athletics director at Alvernia College, where she also was associate professor in the education department.
While at Alvernia, Slabik also coached field hockey and softball, served as department chair for physical education and as director of intramurals and recreation.
She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at West Chester University of Pennsylvania in health and physical education. She earned her doctorate in sports administration from Temple University.
Slabik has served on the Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee, and she is a past director of the U.S. Field Hockey Association International Four-Nation Tournament. She also is a member of the North American Society for Sport Management Review Committee, which reviews university curricula for approval.
Since joining the Council last month, Slabik has subsequently been reappointed to a complete four-year term to fill an anticipated vacancy, so her term will expire January 2007.
