Miscellaneous: Molloy College senior shortstop Mike Scarinci made history March 21 when he stole second base in the first inning of a game against Felician College to become the NCAA Division II all-time career stolen base leader with 189. He went on to steal third base and score the game's first run. With two outs in the eighth, Scarinci added to the record, stealing second base after recording his second hit of the game. After the record-setting day, Scarinci had stolen 191 bases in 213 attempts in 143 games. The record previously was held be Greg Sims of Saint Leo University. Scarinci is 16 away from breaking the NCAA all-division career stolen base record held by Phil Stephenson of Wichita State University, who stole 206 bases from 1979-82.
