Miscellaneous:
Lenoir-Rhyne College senior second baseman Craig Sizemore set a Division II record March 4 when he hit in his 42nd consecutive baseball game. Sizemore singled to left in the first inning of the first game of a doubleheader with Bloomfield College to break the record previously held by Jason Jones of Kennesaw State University. The streak ended at 46 games March 9 when Sizemore went 0-for-2 with two walks in the second game of a doubleheader against Presbyterian College. On an all-division basis, Sizemore's 46-game streak is tied for third with Corey Breyne of Aurora University (Division III, 1998) and trails only the 58-game streak of Robin Ventura (Oklahoma State University, Division I, 1987) and the 47-game streak of Phil Stephenson (Wichita State University, Division I, 1981). Sizemore, whose streak began March 24, 2001, in the second game of a doubleheader against Tusculum College, has been named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's academic honor roll in all six semesters in which he has been eligible.
