Telephone Conference No. 9;
April 10, 2002
Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislative Review/Interpretations issued the following interpretation:
Eligibility/Financial Aid Eligibility for Athletically Related Financial Aid in Excess of Five Years. There is no authority under the current legislation to permit a student-athlete to receive in excess of five calendar years of athletically related financial aid after initial full-time collegiate enrollment. Thus, a student-athlete who exhausts his or her eligibility for athletically related financial aid during the middle of an academic year or academic term may not continue to receive such aid.
