DIVISION I

Dates and site: The championships will be March 8-9 at Arkansas.

Field: A total of 270 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers March 4.

2001 team champion: LSU.

Top team contenders: Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Tennessee.

Top individual contenders: Adrian Blincoe, Villanova; Christian Cantwell, Missouri; Walter Davis, LSU; Alleyne Francique, LSU; Justin Gatlin, Tennessee; David Kimani, Alabama; Chris Mulvaney, Arkansas; Miguel Pate, Alabama; Leonard Scott, Tennessee.

DIVISION II

Dates and site: The Eastern College Athletic Conference will host the championships March 8-9 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston.

Field: A total of 154 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers February 26.

2001 team champion: St. Augustine's.

Top team contenders: Abilene Christian, New York Tech, St. Augustine's, Western State.

Top individual contenders: Michael Aish, Western State; Kevin Bartlett, Lincoln (Missouri); Maurice English, St. Augustine's; John Kemboi, Abilene Christian; Dane Magloire, St. Augustine's; Scott Nagelkerke, Western State; Orville Taylor, New York Tech; Christie VanWyk, Abilene Christian.

DIVISION III

Dates and site: The championships will be March 8-9 at Ohio Northern.

Field: A total of 200 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers March 4.

2001 team champion: Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Top team contenders: Christopher Newport, Lincoln (Pennsylvania), Wheaton (Massachusetts), Wisconsin-La Crosse, Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Top individual contenders: Chaz Clemons, Lincoln (Pennsylvania); Raheim Greenridge, Wheaton (Massachusetts); Matt Groose, Wisconsin-Oshkosh; J. B. Haglund, Haverford; Sean Montgomery, MIT; Jim Nelson, Wisconsin-La Crosse; Andrew Rock, Wisconsin-La Crosse; Milton Williams, Lincoln (Pennsylvania).

A host institution has not won a team championship in Divisions II and III.
