Dates and sites:
The opening round will be March 12 at Dayton, Ohio. The first/second rounds (March 14 and 16) will be at Albuquerque, New Mexico; Greenville, South Carolina; Sacramento, California; and St. Louis. The first/second rounds (March 15 and 17) will be at Chicago, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Two of the four regionals (March 21 and 23) will be in Lexington, Kentucky, and San Jose, California, and the other two (March 22 and 24) will be in Madison, Wisconsin, and Syracuse, New York.Field: A total of 65 teams will be selected, 31 of which will automatically qualify as conference champions. The remaining teams will be selected at large.

Division I will be using new bracketing procedures designed to keep teams closer to their home regions, thus reducing travel costs and increasing spectator interest.
