The National Youth Sports Program effectively combines federal funds and private resources to improve the health and physical fitness of young people, particularly those who are members of low-income families and residents of economically disadvantaged areas of the United States.
The principle partners in the effort include:
More than 200 NCAA colleges and universities
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families
The U.S. Department of Agriculture
Various state and local agencies
National governing bodies of sports
Private organizations and businesses
These partnerships have helped give more than 1.7 million children the opportunity to succeed over the past 33 years ... and counting.
