DIVISION I

Dates and site: The championships will be May 29-June 1 at LSU.

Field: A total of 388 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers May 23.

2001 team champion: Southern California.

Top team contenders: Arizona, Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina, Southern California, UCLA.

Athletes to watch: Rachelle Boone, Indiana; Leshinda Demus, South Carolina; Brianna Glenn, Arizona; Lolo Jones, LSU; Muna Lee, LSU; Tracy O'Hara, UCLA; Austra Skujyte, Kansas State; Demetria Washington, South Carolina; Angela Williams, Southern California.

DIVISION II

Dates and site: The championships will be May 23-25 at Angelo State.

Field: A total of 310 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers May 14.

2001 team champion: St. Augustine's.

Top team contenders: Abilene Christian, Ashland, Cal State Los Angeles, St. Augustine's, Western State.

Athletes to watch: Adriane Blewitt, Ashland; April Burton, Cal State Bakersfield; Nicole Duncan, Cal State Los Angeles; Jennifer Ford, North Florida; Sharlene Fuller, Fort Valley State; Anne Glenn, UC Davis; Diljeet Mendoza, Cal State Stanislaus; Libia Rodriguez, St. Augustine's; Moya Thompson, Lincoln (Missouri).

DIVISION III

Dates and site: The championships will be May 23-25 at Macalester.

Field: A total of 344 athletes will compete in the championships. Athletes qualify by reaching the automatic and provisional standards established for each event.

Selection date: The spots remaining in the field after the automatic qualifiers are entered will be filled from the descending-order list of provisional qualifiers May 20.

2001 team champion: Wheaton (Massachusetts).

Top team contenders: Calvin, Lincoln (Pennsylvania), McMurry, Wheaton (Massachusetts), Williams, Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Athletes to watch: Talitha Belcher, McMurry; Kathy Darling, Johns Hopkins; Megan Daymont, St. Olaf; Tessa Donoghue, Wheaton (Massachusetts); Amber James, Wheaton (Massachusetts), Diana Lawson, New Jersey City; Jenney Luer, Wisconsin-Stout; Kristen Stuart, Occidental.

The 3,000-meter steeplechase is now a championships event in all divisions, as it makes its debut in Division III this year.
