Dates and site:
The championship will be May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis.Field:
Twelve teams, one team from each region, will be selected. Each team will be required to field two boats of eight rowers each and one boat of four rowers. In addition, four eight-women boats from institutions not represented in the team competition will be selected. The championship provides for three events (I Eights, II Eights and Fours), each covering a 2,000-meter course.Selection date:

Six teams (two Pool A, three Pool B and one Pool C) will be selected. Each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers and a coxswain. The championship provides for one event (I Eights and II Eights together), covering a 2,000-meter course.Selection date: May 14.
Top team contenders:
Williams, Ithaca, Coast Guard, Smith, Worcester State, Wesleyan (Connecticut).2002 marks the first time each division has had a separate championship held on the same weekend at the same site.
