The NCAA News incorrectly reported a figure involving nutritional supplement use in its August 13 issue.
The story incorrectly stated that 58.4 percent of student-athletes surveyed had used a nutritional supplement within the last year. In fact, that was the figure that had not used a nutritional supplement in the last year.
Instead, 42.0 percent of those responding said they had used a nutritional supplement in the last year and 29.2 percent continue to use them.
The NCAA Executive Committee has approved a budget of $345.8 million for 2001-02.
Total revenue is expected to increase by about $20.25 million (6.2 percent), primarily due to the escalating television rights fees from the existing CBS television contract.
More than half of the revenue, $181.7 million, will be distributed directly to Division I institutions to support their athletics programs. An additional $10.51 million has been allocated for that purpose this year, including $5 million to the basketball fund, $5 million to the broad-based distribution, $200,000 to the academic enhancement fund and an additional allocation of $310,000 to the conference grant fund.
