Division III is partnering with NACDA to provide scholarships worth up to $1,000 to 24 Division III ethnic minority males to attend NACDA's Management/Leadership Institute. The scholarships include $300 for the registration fee, while the remainder (up to $700) can be applied to travel (coach class airfare or mileage reimbursement), accommodations (maximum of three nights) and/or meals for the Institute. Recipients may include athletics department staff, coaches and/or interns; and there is no limit to the number of recipients from an institution.
The Management/Leadership Institute, which will be held June 13-16 after the NACDA convention, includes three levels of instruction, the first two of which are presented by Franklin Covey and an advanced level that focuses on current communication applications, current issues in athletics and lessons for leaders.
Recipients will receive the scholarship annually, for up to three years, to complete the Institute, provided they remain in Division III.

Athletics directors at NCAA member institutions now may allocate their institution's subscriptions to The NCAA News as they deem appropriate.
Every Division I institution receives 30 copies of the News as an annual benefit of membership. Divisions II and III members receive 20 copies of each issue, based on their smaller dues payment.
Until now, the News has required that four subscriptions go to the chief executive officer, athletics director, faculty athletics representative and senior woman athletics administrator at every institution, with the remaining subscriptions distributed according to the wishes of the athletics director.
"With the changes in technology, we believe that some of our readers may prefer to access the News through NCAA Online," said David Pickle, editor-in-chief of the News. "If that is so, then it's possible that another staff member may prefer to have that paper copy. This change will provide the membership with more flexibility."
Athletics directors who want to review their News subscription list may call Anita Burnett at the national office (317/917-6222).
