The NCAA currently is accepting applications for its Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males, which this year is entitled "Preparing Diverse Leaders for a Dynamic Athletics Community." The Institute is designed to prepare diverse leaders in intercollegiate athletics through a 14-month leadership training and skills development experience.
Enrollment will be limited, and each participant must complete four weekend development sessions on human resource management; leadership and administration; finance and fund-raising; and booster, public and media relations before enrolling in the week-long intensive workshop.
Additional information and application materials can be found on the NCAA Web site (www.ncaa.org) on the education/outreach section of the home page.

The NCAA Executive Committee has confirmed that the NCAA will conduct the 2002 Men's Final Four in Atlanta as scheduled.
The site was being re-evaluated because of the controversy over the Confederate battle flag. The Executive Committee noted a general acceptance of a change in the Georgia state flag from one that was dominated by components of the battle flag to one that includes representations of all the flags that have flown over the state.
In other basketball news, the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee narrowed the list of potential sites for the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Women's Final Four from 10 to five.
Sites still under consideration are Boston (the FleetCenter), Cleveland (Gund Arena), Indianapolis (Conseco Fieldhouse or the RCA Dome), Phoenix (America West Arena) and St. Louis (Savvis Center or the Trans World Dome).
