Nominations are being accepted for vacancies that will occur in September 2002 on Divisions I and II general committees and Divisions I, II and III sports committees, as well as Association-wide and common committees.
A total of 129 vacancies are anticipated on NCAA committees in September 2002, including 83 vacancies on division-specific committees and 46 vacancies on Association-wide and common committees.
Each division's nominees for division-specific and Association-wide and common committees will be considered through the processes that have been established in each division for filling committee vacancies.
All nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, NCAA committee coordinator, at the national office (fax: 317/917-6808). The deadline for submission of nomination materials for all of the vacancies listed in the accompanying chart is November 19, 2001.
Information about each division's process, as well as information about specific committee vacancies, follows.
Division I
A total of 40 vacancies will be filled on Division I-specific general and sports committees, and 31 Division I vacancies will be filled on Association-wide or common committees.
Nominations will be accepted only from the 31 conferences represented in the governance structure (the conferences are listed in Constitution 4.2.1 of the 2001-02 Division I Manual).
Conferences must submit two completed forms for each nominee: the Division I nomination form and the Division I nominee information form. Completed forms must be submitted by the end of business November 19, 2001.
Regardless of whether an individual has been nominated previously, the conference must submit the two required forms for each nominee. Nominees will be kept in the database for one year.
Information will be compiled and forwarded to the appropriate appointing bodies in Division I. Vacancies with terms that begin September 2002 are anticipated to be filled by the end of April 2002.
If an individual is eligible for reappointment, the individual's conference must submit the Division I nomination form to confirm the conference's support of the reappointment. It is not necessary to complete the Division I nominee information form for individuals eligible for reappointment. Reappointment is not guaranteed but is at the discretion of the appointing body.
This article does not contain information regarding Division I cabinet vacancies, effective September 1, 2002. That information will be provided directly to the Division I conferences at a later date.

ncaa.org). All completed nominee information forms must be submitted by the end of business November 19, 2001.
