Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is June 25, 2001.

Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee: One Division III vacancy. The appointee will replace Mary Huff, Wellesley College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an ethnic minority.

Research Committee: One Division I vacancy. The appointee will replace Mildred Griggs, University of Illinois, Champaign, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be a female faculty athletics representative.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division I Women's Softball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Ramona Riley Bozier, Morgan State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Northeast region and must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division III Women's Ice Hockey Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be a coach, and may not be from the Little East, Skyline, Wisconsin Intercollegiate, Minnesota Intercollegiate or New England Small College Conferences.

Division III Financial Aid and Awards Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Don Wharton, Plymouth State College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointment has no restrictions; financial aid officers are encouraged to apply.

Division III Men's Lacrosse Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Bryan Matthews, Washington College (Maryland), who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee may be from any region and must be an athletics administrator.

Division III Wrestling Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Donald Tencher, Rhode Island College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee preferably will be from the East region. The appointee may not be from the Little East conference.
