Milestones: Lu Kormeluk, women's volleyball coach at Shepherd College, won his 150th career game in October when the Rams defeated Davis and Elkins College, 32-30, 30-25, 30-13. Kormeluk has compiled a 150-56 mark in six years as head coach for Shepherd.
Miscellaneous: Bentley College quarterback Marc Eddy and receiver Dallas Mall now have more touchdown passes and touchdown catches than any freshmen in NCAA football history. Eddy threw four TD passes in a November 10 win over Stonehill College, giving him 31 for the year. That surpasses the previous record of 29, set in 1998 by David Neill of the University of Nevada and matched one year later by Justin Coleman of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Mall caught three touchdown passes in the Stonehill game, bringing his total for the season to 23. He had broken Randy Moss' NCAA freshman record for touchdown receptions a week earlier. Mall also has surpassed the previous Division II record of 21 touchdown catches in a season. However, David Kircus of Grand Valley State University had 28 TDs through mid-November and is now the Division II record-holder.
