After two days and four sessions of competition, the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships hinged on one match -- the heavyweight title bout. After a takedown, North Dakota State's Nick Severson took down South Dakota State's Jon Madsen, then turned him on his back, pinning the top-rated wrestler and giving the Bison the team title.

The tournament, held March 9-10 in Greeley, Colorado, drew 10,390 fans over the event's four sessions. To have the team championship decided in the final match was all a tournament director could ask for.

"That was pretty amazing," said Jim Fallis, athletics director at Northern Colorado, the tournament host. "I have never seen anything like that in all my years of wrestling -- to have the championship come down to the two teams fighting it out. It was tremendous for the wrestlers and for all the wonderful fans who came out to support the championship."
