Several changes to the 2001 Division II men's and women's indoor track and field qualifying standards have been made from those published in the September 11, 2000, issue of The NCAA News.
The adjustments are as follows:
Men's 5,000-meter run (tracks over 200 meters/220 yards) -- Automatic Qualifying Standard, Fully Automatic Time (FAT) changed from 14:11.30 to 14:08.30, Manual Time (MT) changed from 14:11.0 to 14:08.0;
Men's 1,600-meter relay (tracks under 200 meters/220 yards) -- Automatic Qualifying Standard, FAT changed from 3:14.30 to 3:14.50, MT changed from 3:14.0 to 3:14.2. Men's 1,600-meter relay (tracks under 200 meters/220 yards) -- Provisional Qualifying Standard, FAT changed from 3:21.30 to 3:21.50, MT changed from 3:21.0 to 3:21.2. Women's 400-meter dash (tracks under 200 meters/220 yards) -- Automatic Qualifying Standard, FAT changed from 56.30 seconds to 56.00, MT changed from 56.0 seconds to 55.7. Women's 1,600-meter relay (tracks under 200 meters/220 yards) -- Automatic Qualifying Standard, FAT changed from 3:47.40 to 3:47.50, MT changed from 3:47.1 to 3:47.2. Women's 1,600-meter relay (tracks under 200 meters/220 yards) -- Provisional Qualifying Standard, FAT changed from 4:00.30 to 4:00.50, MT changed from 4:00.0 to 4:00.2.
