Lolla is 100-45-14 in nine seasons with the Zips and 149-61-17 in 12 years of coaching overall. University of Cincinnati head women's soccer coach >Meridy Glenn joined the 200-victory plateau in Cincinnati's win over the University of Memphis September 30. Glenn became the ninth coach and first woman in Division I women's soccer history to reach 200 wins ... Anson Dorrance, long-time women's soccer coach at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, won his 500th game in a 3-0 victory over Clemson October 18. Dorrance joins University of San Francisco men's soccer coach Steve Negoesco, who won 544 games from 1962 to 2000, and Jerry Yeagley of Indiana University, Bloomington, who won his 500th game October 5, as 500-game winners. Dorrance also is the only soccer coach to win 500 combined games coaching men's and women's teams. He had a 172-65-21 mark as North Carolina's men's coach from 1976 to 1988 and has 672 victories overall. He is 500-22-11 since taking over the women's team in 1978. "Obviously, because of the success we've had here I'm forced to address different streaks, but we never really planned on all of this," Dorrance told the Associated Press after the landmark win. "It wasn't some sort of master plan. We just worked hard and did as best as we could." Under Dorrance, North Carolina has won 16 of the 19 Division I Women's Soccer Championships and has reached at least the semifinals every year. The Tar Heels have not lost more than three games in a season under Dorrance since finishing 21-5 in 1980 and have lost consecutive games only once since 1982 ... Another North Carolina coach also reached an important milstone recently. The Tar Heels' field hockey coach, Karen Shelton, earned her 350th career win October 25 when her squad downed the University of Virginia, 3-0. All of Shelton's victories have come during her 21 years at North Carolina.
