Championships notes: Lincoln (Pennsylvania) earned its second championship in 1999 by a six-point margin over second-place Wheaton (Massachusetts). The two teams traded places in the 2000 indoor track and field championships, as Wheaton (nicknamed the Lyons) won by six points over runner-up Lincoln (nicknamed the Lions). Wheaton, which also finished second in the 1998 outdoor championships, is led by sprinter Deshawnda Williams, who finished second last year in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes. She won the 400 indoors this year. Lincoln's top returner is Rhondale Jones, the defending champion in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and the 100-meter high hurdles. Jones became only the second triple winner in the 18-year history of the championships. Other teams that may contend include Calvin and Wisconsin-Whitewater.
