Championship notes: North Carolina Wesleyan and St. Thomas (Minnesota) staged a pitchers' duel in the 1999 championship, with Wesleyan claiming a 1-0 victory. The championship was the second for North Carolina Wesleyan. Carthage, Ferrum, Eastern Connecticut State, Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Allegheny are expected to be among contenders for this year's title.
