The NCAA News

Sports sponsorship: Colby-Sawyer College has announced that it will add men's and women's swimming and diving over the next two academic years. William Mahler has been named the first head coach of both programs. Mahler comes to Colby-Sawyer from The College of New Jersey, where he spent three seasons as an assistant men's coach. The addition of the two squads will bring to 16 the number of varsity teams at Colby-Sawyer and will mark the eighth and ninth new sports offerings since the college reintroduced coeducation in 1990-91. The swim teams will not begin competition until the 2001-02 academic year. Diving will be added in the second season of competition (2002-03).

Milestones: Cabrini College men's and women's tennis coach Reggie Day won his 200th career match March 18 with a 6-1 win over Wesley College.
