A change to the Division III men's indoor track and field distance medley relay qualifying standards has been made from those published in the November 8, 1999, issue of The NCAA News and the 2000 NCAA Track and Field/Cross Country Rules.

The provisional standard for the event, when run on a metric track of more than 200 meters or that is banked, should be 10:18.04 with fully automatic timing (FAT) and 10:17.8 with manual timing (MT).

On a track measured in yards that is more than 220 yards or that is banked, the provisional standard should be 10:21.78 (FAT) and 10:21.5 (MT).

The provisional times for tracks of 200 meters or less and 220 yards or less remain unchanged.

Since the event is being contested for the first time in Division III in 2000, no automatic-qualifying standards were established.
