Field: The Division II Championships Committee has approved a qualifying procedure that allows for a maximum of 126 student-athletes.

Dates and site: The Eastern College Athletic Conference will host the event March 10 and 11 at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston.

Information/results: The fax-on-demand telephone number is 770/563-1133 (pin code 1915); request numbers are 1575 for dates/site/schedule, 5280 for qualifiers, 5281 for day one results, 5282 for day two results and 5283 for finals-only results. Championships results will be published in the March 27 issue of The NCAA News.

Championships notes: The championships site moves for the first time since 1995 after a five-year run at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. Abilene Christian is riding a seven-year winning streak and has won 11 of the 14 titles in the history of the championships. Last year, the Wildcats racked up 119 points, an all-divisions women's track and field championships record. Twins Shawntel and Dawnyel Newhouse appear primed to lead Abilene Christian this year. Shawntel currently is ranked first in the country in the 55-meter hurdles, and Dawnyel is second in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump. The Wildcats can expect a strong challenge from North Dakota State. Bison athletes hold the top spot in the 800-meter run (Cortney Ward) and weight throw (Diandra Bauer), and are second in the 400-meter dash, shot put and 1,600-meter relay.
