Field: A total of 45 teams will be selected for regional competition with 18 teams and three individuals advancing to the championships.
Dates and sites: Three regionals will be conducted May 1-3. Host institutions are Lewis (North), Rollins (South) and Cal State Bakersfield (West). The championship finals will be held May 16-19 at the Turlock Country Club in Turlock, California. Cal State Stanislaus will serve as host.

Championships notes: At the 1999 championships, Florida Southern set the NCAA Division II men's golf scoring record, scorching the field to win the school's 10th title by 32 shots. The Moccasins finished with a team total of 1,125 at 27 strokes under par. South Carolina-Aiken finished second, posting a score of 1,157. Florida Southern's Matt Saglio took the individual title while three players tied for second place. With Saglio's graduation, the title is up for grabs.
