Led by senior Lisa Cave, Florida Southern claimed the inaugural Division II Women's Golf Championship, besting runner-up Rollins by seven strokes.

The Moccasins trailed Rollins by nine shots heading into the final round but posted a tournament-low 303 on the last day to grab the title. The tournament was played at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless, Texas, May 16-19.

Cave nabbed her second straight individual title (she won the combined Divisions II/III tournament last year), coming from 10 strokes behind on the final day to win medalist honors. The senior fired a one-over-par 72 in the last round, catching Rollins' Lyndsey Devenish, who had the lead after the third round. Devenish and teammate Jennifer Beames tied for second with a 312 total. Nebraska-Kearney's Carla Dobchuk and Florida Southern's Lisa Ball tied for fourth at 313.

Florida Southern's decisive final round included Cave's 72, a 76 from Ball, a 77 from Norie Nakagawa and a 78 from Teri Goolsby.

The Moccasins posted a tournament total of 1,259 to edge Rollins' score of 1,266. Northeastern State was third with a 1,330 total. Western New Mexico (1,337) and Minnesota State-Mankato (1,374) rounded out the top five.
