Miscellaneous: The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, School of Education has established the Frank R. Comfort Scholarship Fund, a full tuition merit scholarship for an undergraduate student enrolled at the school. Comfort, who has coached the men's and women's swimming teams at North Carolina for 23 years, has earned 13 women's and 10 men's Atlantic Coast Conference championships and became the winningest swim coach in the history of the ACC. " 'Now with one less thing to worry about, you can concentrate on the important issues of your educational experience.' " He has endowed a similar scholarship at Syracuse University in honor of his mother. A 1967 alumnus of Syracuse, Comfort was a three-time swimming letter-winner for the Orangemen.
