Vanderbilt University assistant athletics director Keith Gill has been hired as NCAA director of membership services.
Gill will assume his new duties later this month.
It will be Gill's second stint at the national office after having fulfilled a variety of roles during five years with the NCAA staff from 1994 to 1999.
Gill played football at Duke University and graduated with a degree in history and sociology before landing an NCAA internship in 1994. He began with the professional development staff at the national office before moving on as an intern in youth programs.
Gill later was named as a compliance coordinator in the membership services staff, where he remained until assuming the assistant athletics director for administration position at Vanderbilt in February 1999.
Among Gill's duties in his new position will be to lead the athletics certification team and work as the primary liaison with the Division I Committee on Athletics Certification.
