Final list of baseball bats approved for use in 2000 season

The NCAA has approved 48 baseball bats for play in the 2000 season. The bats, which were tested through a protocol approved September 23, 1999, by the NCAA Executive Committee, are the only bats that may be used.

All bats submitted for testing have gone through the process, which takes place at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Should more bats be submitted, the following list will be updated.

Several models that were used last season were approved for this year. Those bats must carry a "BESR Certified" sticker, which may be obtained by contacting the company that produced the bat. A representative from the bat company must put the sticker on the bat.

The testing protocol, an updated list of approved bats and a list of bat company contacts is posted on NCAA Online at www.ncaa.org/champadmin/baseball/.
