DIVISION I
Dates and sites:
Regional qualifying at nine sites will be November 11. The championships will be November 20 at Iowa State.Field: A total of 255 competitors will qualify or be selected.
Selection date: Thirteen teams will be selected at large November 13. The remainder of the field advances through regional competition.
1999 team champion: Arkansas.
1999 individual champion: David Kimani, South Alabama (Kimani transferred to Alabama after the 1999-00 academic year.)
Top team contenders: Arkansas, Colorado, Providence, Stanford, Wisconsin.
Top individual contenders: Kimani (Alabama), James Karanu (Arkansas), Keith Kelly (Providence), Jonathon Riley (Stanford), Jorge Torres (Colorado), Jason Vanderhoof (Wisconsin).
DIVISION II
Dates and sites:
Regional qualifying at eight sites will be November 3, 4 or 5. The championships will be November 18 at Cal Poly Pomona.Field: A total of 184 runners will compete.
Selection date: The field is determined through regional competition.
1999 team champion: Western State.
1999 individual champion: Michael Aish (Western State).
Top team contenders: Abilene Christian, Adams State, UC Davis, Edinboro, Western State.
Top individual contenders: Aish (Western State), Jeff Barker (Edinboro), Jason Hubbard (Adams State), Jeff Kaiser (UC Davis), Brandon Leslie (Adams State), Alfred Rugema (Abilene Christian), Joseph LeRoux (Western State).
DIVISION III
Dates and sites:
Regional qualifying at eight sites will be November 11. The championships will be November 18 at Whitworth.Field: A total of 215 runners will compete.
Selection date: The field is determined through regional competition.
1999 team champion: North Central.
1999 individual champion: Dave Davis (Puget Sound).
Top team contenders: Calvin, Keene State, North Central, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Top individual contenders: Jeremy Borling (North Central), Jeremy Burks (Wisconsin-Whitewater), Joel Klooster (Calvin), Tim McCoskey (North Central), Abe Mendoza (Wisconsin-Oshkosh), Wilson Perez (Keene State).
Fact -- North Central will be attempting to become the first Division III institution to win four championships in a row.
