Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is July 28, 2000.

Committee on Women's Athletics: Two (one interim) vacancies. The appointees will replace Dorothy Alston, North Carolina A&T State University, and David Caputo, Hunter College, who have resigned from the committee. One appointee must be from Division I, preferably from Division I-A, and the other appointee must be from Division III and may not be from the City University of New York Athletic Conference. At least one appointee must be a male.

Women's Lacrosse Committee: One interim Division I vacancy. The appointee will replace Amy Patton, Dartmouth College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the Northeast region and may be from Division I-A, I-AA or I-AAA.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is July 3, 2000.

Core Course Review Committee: One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Vicki Hightower, Elon College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee preferably will be a faculty athletics representative with experience in computer science.

Football Rules Committee: Two (one interim) Division III vacancies and one Division II vacancy. The Division III appointees will replace Michael Maynard, University of Redlands, who is not eligible for reappointment, and Terry McMillan, Mississippi College, who has resigned from the committee. One appointee preferably will be from region 1 and at least one appointee must be an athletics administrator. The appointees may not be from the American Southwest or the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences. One Division II vacancy. The appointee will replace Greg Gregory, Missouri Southern State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be a coach and preferably be from region 3.

Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Rules Committee: One Division I vacancy and one Division III vacancy. The appointees preferably will represent women's ice hockey.

Women's Basketball Rules Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Sue Donohoe, formerly of the Southland Conference, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA and must be an athletics administrator.

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division I Women's Basketball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Joni Comstock, Purdue University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from the East, Midwest or West region. The appointee must be from Division I-A.

Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: Two newly created vacancies due to the expansion of the number of men's tennis representatives on the committee. The appointees must represent men's tennis interests. One appointee must be from region 4 and the other must be from region 7.

Division I Women's Volleyball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Charlene Johnson, South Carolina State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA and must be from District 3.

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. The appointees will replace Mike Sutton, Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges; and Barron Bremner, Coe College, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be from District 8 and at least one must be an athletics administrator. The appointees may not be from the Southern California or Iowa Intercollegiate Conferences.

Division III Management Council: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Lon Boike, Clarke College, who has resigned from the committee. There are no legislative restrictions for the vacancy.

Division III Football Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace John Van Why, Iowa Intercollegiate Conference, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the West region and may not be from the Iowa Intercollegiate Conference.

Division III Women's Basketball Committee: Two (one interim) vacancies. The interim appointee will replace Nancy Blank, Johns Hopkins University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Mid-Atlantic region and may not be from the Centennial Conference. One appointee will replace Mark Thomas, University of Wisconsin, Stout, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be from the Central region and may not be from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Women's Golf Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Monica Severson, Wartburg College, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from region 4. The appointee may not be from the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Women's Lacrosse Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Connie Zotos, Drew University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the Metro region and may not be from the Middle Atlantic States Conference.

Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Roxanne Dale, Colorado College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the West region.

Division III Nominating Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Linda Hopple, Middle Atlantic States Conference, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may not be from the Middle Atlantic States Conference.

Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee: One (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Maggie Trainor, Rosemont College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee preferably will be from region 2 and may not be from the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

Division III Men's Golf Committee: Two vacancies. The appointees will replace Charles Gordon, Emory University; and Steve Ulrich, Centennial Conference, who are not eligible for reappointment. One appointee must be from District 2 and one must be from District 3. The appointees may not be from the Centennial or University Athletic Conferences.
