Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is April 28, 2000.

Women's Ice Hockey Committee: Six vacancies for the newly established committee, pending Board of Directors approval in April. The committee will consist of three members from Division I (one representative from each subdivision), one member from Division II and two members from Division III.

Women's Water Polo Committee: Six vacancies for the newly established committee, pending Board of Directors approval in April. The committee shall consist of three members from Division I (one representative from each subdivision), one member from Division II, one member from Division III and one member shall be selected at large.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is April 15, 2000.

Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee: One Division II Vacancy. The appointee will replace Maryclaire Robinson, University of California, Davis, who is not eligible for reappointment. It is preferred the appointee be a female from region 4 (Far West).

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is April 28, 2000.

Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: One September vacancy. The appointee will replace Michael Johnson, Boise State University, who is not eligible for reappointment. The appointee must represent men's track and field and be from region 4, district 6, 7 or 8.

Division I Women's Volleyball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Judith Ray, University of New Hampshire, who has resigned from the committee, effective June 30. The appointee must be from Divisions I-AA or I-AAA and may be from any region.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancies is April 10, 2000.

Women's Gymnastics Committee: Two Division I (one immediate) vacancies. One appointee will replace Linda Burdette, West Virginia University, who is not eligible for reappointment. The second vacancy is a newly created position. The appointees must be from region 2 and region 6.

Division I Women's Soccer Committee: One (immediate) vacancy. The appointee will replace Sue Montagne, formerly of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from Division I-A and may be from any region. The appointee may be an athletics administrator or a coach.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Diane Heydt, St. Cloud State University. The appointee must be an athletics administrator and represent men's swimming.

The deadline for submission of completed nomination materials for the following vacancy is April 15, 2000.

Division II Membership Committee: Two (one interim) vacancies. One appointee will replace Donald Lyons, Kentucky State University, who has resigned from the committee, and one appointee will replace Doug Palmer, University of West Florida, who is not eligible for reappointment. One appointee preferably will be a female from region 4 (Far West).

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division III Championships Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Tim Hale, University of Rochester, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee may not be from the University Athletic Association. It is preferred the appointee be from region 2.
