April 1980 -- First National Collegiate Rifle Championships held in Johnson City, Tennessee.

May 1980 -- First Division III Lacrosse Championship held at Hobart College.

November 1981 -- First Divisions I, II and III Field Hockey Championships held at the University of Connecticut, Pfeiffer University and Westfield State College, respectively.

November 1981 -- First Divisions I, II and III Women's Cross Country Championships held at Wichita State University, Southeast Missouri State University and Carthage College, respectively.

November 1981 -- First National Collegiate Women's Soccer Championship held at the University of Central Florida.

December 1981 -- First Divisions I, II and III Women's Volleyball Championships held at the University of California, Los Angeles; the University of California, Riverside; and Maryville College (Tennessee), respectively.

March 1982 -- First Divisions I, II and III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships held at the University of Florida, Truman State University and the University of Massachusetts, Boston, respectively.
