Software training seminars to be conducted at Convention
The NCAA membership services staff will conduct "hands-on" training of the NCAA Compliance Assistant software program (Windows version) during the 2000 NCAA Convention in San Diego. The sessions will be conducted January 8, 9 and 10 in the San Diego Convention Center.
The purpose of hands-on training is to allow individuals to learn the Compliance Assistant by working on the computer themselves.
Twenty-five IBM computers will be available, and two people may be assigned to a computer, if necessary.
The format of the training will be similar to that used for hands-on training at previous NCAA regional seminars and Conventions.
A four-hour "beginner" session will be offered both Saturday morning and afternoon, and on Sunday and Monday mornings to review all of the modules in the Compliance Assistant. A schedule of the sessions accompanies this article.
Members should note that it is necessary to preregister for any of the sessions. Participants will be chosen for these sessions in the order that preregistration forms are received.
Letters announcing the training, a description of the sessions to be offered and a preregistration form were sent November 15 to compliance coordinators who have downloaded the Windows version of the Compliance Assistant, as well as Division I conference compliance coordinators and Division II conference commissioners.
Those who did not receive this correspondence and would like to complete a four-hour beginner session preregistration form or review the content of the sessions to be offered should call Kerstin Hunter at the NCAA national office (317/917-6222).
The three 2000 regional seminars also will feature hands-on training. One training room with a total of 25 IBM computers will be used at each site.
