Division I Women's Volleyball

Field: A field of 64 teams will compete for the national championship.

Dates and sites: First- and second-round matches will be played at on-campus sites December 2-5. Regionals will be conducted at on-campus sites December 9-12. The semifinals and final will be played at Hawaii December 16 and 18.

Championship notes: Returning 1998 all-tournament team members Bonnie Bremner and Lauren Cacciamani could help Penn State reach a third straight championship match. The Nittany Lions, who have finished second for two straight years, won 14 early season matches after suffering a loss in the first match of the season to Florida ... Long Beach State lost three all-tournament players from last year's championship squad and sustained losses to Hawaii and Pacific (California) this season ... Hawaii hopes to be doing more than just hosting the championship match December 18. The Rainbows opened the season 13-0 and return four starters from last year's squad that was only one match from advancing to the national semifinals.
