Division III Field Hockey

Field: The tournament field was increased from 16 teams to 18 teams for this year's championship.

Dates and sites: First- and second-round games will be played at on-campus sites November 6-7; the finals will be November 13-14 at an on-campus location.

Championship notes: Defending champion Middlebury and runner-up William Smith have both sustained early-season losses in the hunt to return to the title game. Cortland State and Lebanon Valley both went 7-0 to start the season. College of New Jersey, which owns more Division III titles than any other school, also got off to an undefeated start at 6-0. The Lions most recently won the championship in 1996.
